Our general membership meeting will be conducted via Zoom.  Advance registration is required so we can accurately track member attendance.

As you know, Virginia passed quite a few laws that recently went into effect and can have a significant impact on our business.  One of those changes pertains to source of income for tenants and will likely cause an increase in inquiries about Section 8 (the short name for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.)  In the past, some property managers would say that they DO NOT ACCEPT SECTION 8, however with this new law, you may need to change how you answer the question when a prospective tenant (or tester) calls inquiring about your vacancy.

We are thrilled to have Patti Robertson, of PMI Virginia, presenting information on the Section 8 program and what to expect in the onboarding process for a property that has not previously been accepted into the program, and some general information on how the program operates in each city.

The meeting is expected to be at least one hour, but may go as long as 2 hours.
